The hotel offers 58 single rooms, 23 double rooms, and 5 apartments — all newly renovated and designed with a consistent 1960s aesthetic that respects the building’s past as a folk high school. Højhuset encourages a sense of community and presence both indoors and outdoors — from the cosy courtyard areas to the Fireplace Lounge and Dining Room at the heart of the building, and the beautiful lecture halls in the wings.

Single room
Højhuset’s minimalist single rooms offer exactly what you need for a short stay in the city and a good night’s sleep: a comfortable bed with extra leg length and a good duvet, a desk, shelves and a clothing rack, a sink, and the best view in town. Just outside the door, you’ll find a large bathroom with both a room with tooilet and a separate shower room, shared with no more than two other guests. There’s also a kitchenette with a minibar on the corridor.

Double room
The gable rooms in the high-rise building are double rooms with the same aesthetic as the rest of the building's interior design. A double bed with good duvets, a desk, shelves and clothes hangers, a private bathroom and toilet, and a view of two corners of the world. Extra beds are available in selected double rooms.
Floor
If you’re a larger group, you can book an entire floor, allowing the sense of community, the celebration, or the focused work to continue in a more private setting. And if you’ve never tried living like a folk high school student, this gives you a chance to experience the cosy charm of a short-term “corridor community.”
Apartments
Højhuset offers five apartments that are ideal if you’re planning a longer stay, want a bit more space, or are travelling as a family.

highschool-apartment
Højhuset offers a small apartment on the 9th and 13th floors. The small apartment has a separate kitchen, a bedroom with two single beds, a living room with a sofa bed, desk, and dining area, as well as a shower and toilet. It can accommodate a maximum of four people.

Big
highschool-apartment
Højhuset's large apartment is located on the 14th floor. In addition to a large kitchen with a dining area and good views, there is a spacious living room with a sofa bed, desk and reading corner, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower and toilet. The apartment can accommodate a maximum of 4 people.

Writer's apartment
On the 15th floor, you’ll find a well-proportioned apartment where everything is gathered in one space: a kitchen, dining area, and a loft with a double bed, along with a bathroom and toilet. There’s also access to an open balcony with garden chairs and a view over Birk. The apartment accommodates up to three people.

Atelier apartment
The ultimate wow-moment awaits in the Atelier Apartment on the 15th floor. The apartment features a high-ceilinged living room with large windows, a dining area, and a cosy sofa corner. There’s a kitchen with a dining space, a loft with a double bed, a bathroom and toilet, and access to an open balcony with garden chairs and views across Birk. The apartment accommodates up to four people.

Breakfast
Højhusets morgenmad serveres i Spisesalen og er et enkelt måltid bestående af økologiske råvarer, der varierer efter sæson og kokkens inspiration. Godt brød, æg og ost, marmelade og kødpålæg, gryn og mælk vil typisk være at finde på buffeten. Hertil kaffe, te og æblemost. Læs mere om husets mad her.
