What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in from 14:00
If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to leave your luggage in the hotel's luggage storage area until your room is ready.
Check-out by 10.00 am.
Is breakfast included?
Yes. Breakfast in the Dining Hall is included with all hotel stays.
When is breakfast served?
Breakfast is included with your stay and is served in the Dining Hall:
- Weekdays: 6.30–9.00 am
- Weekends and public holidays: 8.00–10.00 am
Can I check in after reception opening hours?
Yes. Please contact reception before your arrival and provide your mobile phone number. You will then receive an SMS with instructions for late check-in.
Does Højhuset serve dinner?
Communal dining is held in the Dining Hall every Monday and Wednesday.
Bookings can be made through the event calendar or by contacting reception on +45 97 12 32 44.
If you would like catering on other days, please contact reception before or upon arrival. In many cases, we will be able to offer a suitable solution.
The Dining Hall is also used for private events such as celebrations, receptions and conferences. Seasonal menus are served, based on Danish, organic and primarily locally sourced ingredients. Reservations are recommended well in advance through reception. reception@hojhuset.com.
Which shared spaces are available to guests?
Guests have access to the following shared spaces on the ground floor:
- The foyer
- The fireplace lounge
- The library
Here, guests can enjoy table tennis, table football, shuffleboard and board games.
The Library also features a record player with a selection of vinyl records.
Outdoors, guests are welcome to use the Atrium Courtyard and the garden overlooking the kitchen garden.
Each floor also features shared lounge areas with seating.
Are refreshments available outside reception opening hours?
Yes. Self-service minibars are available in the shared areas and in the Library.
Payment can be made via MobilePay (848099) or at reception during the next opening hours.
Are pets allowed?
No. Pets are not permitted.
How many rooms are there on each floor?
Each guest floor has 14 rooms:
- 10 single rooms
- 4 double rooms
Is it possible to book an entire floor?
Yes. Entire floors can be booked for larger groups. This provides a private setting for both social gatherings and professional stays.

Is free parking available?
Yes, Højhuset has 170 free parking spaces and charging stations for electric vehicles.
Can I charge my electric vehicle?
Yes. Charging stations are available in Højhuset's car park.
How do I get to Højhuset by public transport?
Birk is connected to Herning city centre and Herning Station by both bus and train.
Birk Station is approximately a 15-minute walk from Højhuset.
Is smoking permitted?
Smoking and vaping are permitted only in the designated outdoor smoking areas.
Is Højhuset accessible for wheelchair users?
The listed building has some access limitations that may present challenges. Please contact Højhuset before your visit so that the most suitable access arrangements can be made.
Can I buy a gift card?
Yes. Gift cards can be used for hotel stays, communal dining and events at Højhuset.
