Højhuset Kulturhotel is located in a listed building from the 1960s and has been carefully renovated with respect for its past life as a folk high school. Today, it forms the setting for a different kind of hotel experience shaped by culture, the spirit of the folk high school, and artful surroundings.
The building contains 56 single rooms, 23 double rooms, 5 apartments, and 7 meeting rooms in various sizes. In addition, there’s a large hexagonal event hall and a lecture hall that can accommodate up to 150 guests.
As a guest, you’ll find plenty of peaceful corners throughout the house – in the Dining Room, the Fireplace Lounge, the Library, the Atrium Courtyard, or in the green gardens surrounding the building.
Every month, Højhuset hosts a variety of events – from talks and concerts to yoga sessions and creative workshops. On Mondays and Wednesdays, the long red tables in the Dining Room are set for communal dining, which – just like the events – is open to hotel guests, course participants, and locals.
In the former student tower, Højhuset’s rooms and apartments are spread across 15 floors, each with its own little universe. Here, you’ll find double rooms with private bathrooms alongside single rooms with the sink inside and the bathroom just outside the door. Each floor also has its own small lounge area with sofas and a kitchenette with a minibar – a spot to settle in between the day’s activities.
The tower’s interior draws on the building’s folk high school heritage and its protected architecture, while still feeling very contemporary with its clean and sustainable design. Simple, calm, and thoughtfully put together – a kind of minimalist comfort that isn't too loud, but makes it genuinely pleasant to stay here.
Højhuset offers everything from small meeting rooms to a lecture hall and a distinctive hexagonal hall, making it a good fit for both day meetings and large conferences. Along the way, you can unwind in the Fireplace Lounge or the Library, enjoy your coffee in the Atrium Courtyard, or step outside into the gardens surrounded by art – and the occasional sheep.
If you’d like to add a creative touch to the day, the program can include anything from guided tours and art walks to workshops and cultural activities. A meeting day that’s both professional and enriched with a cultural touch.
